Establishing the Endowment Fund
In 2007 family and friends decided to establish an Education Endowment Fund. Coach Webber’s guiding principles could, thereby, live forever.
When fully funded at $1M, the earnings would generously fund college scholarships for promising young athlete-students with stellar character and financial need.
Monies raised in these early years were transferred to the Jackson R2 School District Foundation in January 2014. Their institutional investments average 5% earnings.
Requirements for Candidates for College Scholarship Awards
Jackson high school seniors who have:
- demonstrated dedication to athletic endeavors
- exhibited high integrity
- determined they want to achieve their goals even though it might seem impossible
- earned good grades
- need support to continue their studies (need shall be broadly defined to include intangible (emotional, confidence-building, etc.) and tangible monetary support
